ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The levels of certification  available for courses of study are the following:
Certificate
Diploma
It is an attestation of competence that will be awarded on successful completion of a single course section and it is a basic introductory preparation program with an emphasis on  technical or scientific subjects related to the chosen technological degree course.
It is a technical degree, below the undergraduate rank, which aims to provide students with some basic knowledge of the chosen degree course and ability to apply the basic problem solving techniques.
It is an undergraduate academic degree awarded by universities upon completion of a course of study usually lasting two years.
Associate's
It is usually earned for an undergraduate course of study that nominally requires three to five years of study (depending on institution and field of study).
Bachelor's
It is an academic degree granted to persons who have undergone their studies demonstrating a mastery or high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional practice.
Master's
It is an academic degree or professional degree that, in most countries, qualifies the holder to teach at the University level in the specific field of his or her degree, or to work in a specific profession. The term doctorate comes from the Latin docere, meaning "to teach."
Doctorate
Each program has different admission requirements that are shown below.
Certificate
For the admission to these level programs, applicants must fulfill the following requirements established by the university:

  • have a high school diploma
  • have the 16-credits high school core curriculum (see table below) with a GPA (grade point average) of at least 2.5
  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.0

In the event of no possession of a high school diploma, the student, with already 5 years past high school age experience, has to attend a bridging coursework to test him out on, e.g., science and literary skills and to confirm he has the competency to apply under the adult program.

In many cases those who are 23 years old are exempted from having to attend high school diploma exams: in this case the Universities add a remark on the transcript that the person has completed a bridging coursework equivalent to high school.
The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for these programs is based on a combination of high school GPA, completion of specific high school courses, list of learning and training activities attended, general and technical knowledge, work experience related and coherent to the course chosen.
Diploma, Associate’s Degree & Bachelor's Degree
For the admission to these level programs, applicants must fulfill the following requirements established by the university:

  • have a high school diploma
  • have the 16-credits high school core curriculum (see table below) with a GPA (grade point average) of at least 2.5
  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.0

In the event of no possession of a high school diploma, the student must have:

  • a Certificate in the same field of the course chosen for the admission to the Diploma program
  • a Diploma in the same field of the course chosen for the admission to the Associate Degree's program
  • an Associate Degree's in the same field of the course chosen for the admission to the Bachelor's Degree program.

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for these programs is based on a combination of high school GPA, completion of specific high school courses, list of learning and training activities attended, general and technical knowledge, work experience related and coherent to the course chosen.
Admission requirements
Master's Degree
Admission requirements established by the university to Master's level programs must be a Bachelor's/Master’s Degree related to the course chosen, issued by an institution approved by an appropriately accredited agency internationally recognized or an educational institution approved by an equivalent authority.

The number of courses to be attended for the Master's Degree beyond the Bachelor's Degree/Master’s Degree are different according to the area of study (subjects as, e.g., individual research project/group project, in relation to the course chosen, can be added).

The universities may accept a maximum of 6 courses in transfer towards the Master's Degree for Bachelor’s courses, completed at an institution approved by an appropriately accredited agency internationally recognized or an educational institution approved by an equivalent authority.

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for a specific Master's Degree program is based on a combination of completion of specific Bachelor's/Master’s Degree programs, list of learning and training activities attended, general and technical knowledge, work experience related and coherent to the course chosen.
Doctorate
Admission requirements established by the university to Doctorate level programs must be a Master’s Degree related to the course chosen, issued by an institution approved by an appropriately accredited agency internationally recognized or an educational institution approved by an equivalent authority.

The number of courses to be attended for the Doctorate are different according to the area of research (they may be based on an extensive research work related to the discovery or introduction of findings due to extensive research works in a particular area).

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for a specific Doctorate program is based on a combination of completion of specific Master’s Degree programs, list of learning and training activities attended, general and technical knowledge, work experience related and coherent to the course chosen.
